ABSTRACT
Polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common endocrinopathies in women.
It mainly affects women of reproductive age. It is a disease of unknown etiology, but it is believed to be
multifactorial. It manifests clinically with menstrual alterations, infertility, hirsutism, acne, obesity, and
insulin resistance. For its diagnosis, it is necessary to exclude other pathologies that cause disorders of
the menstrual cycle and excess androgens, and meet at least two of the following criteria:
oligomenorrhea / amenorrhea, clinical and / or biochemical hyperandrogenism, polycystic ovaries by
ultrasound. Treatment should be individualized and focused on the regulation of menstrual disorders and
the patient's desire to conceive.
