ABSTRACT
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a disease that often occurs silently, many of the
cases are not diagnosed in a timely manner. It is a complication of deep vein
thrombosis originating, mainly in the lower limbs, which causes total or partial
occlusion of the pulmonary circulation, caused by a clot, which depending on its
magnitude, may or may not cause symptoms.
