ABSTRACT
Despite of low risk of HIV-transmission among health care workers, dentists frequently refuse to treat HIV-patients. The reasons of unwillingness among dental practitioners to provide dental care for HIV-infected patients mainly describe fear for HIV-transmission in the dental office and lack of knowledge about HIV-transmission and cross infection control. The present paper briefly describes several factors involved in such negative attitudes toward HIV-infected subjects in the dental office.
