ABSTRACT
The penile melanotic macules are one of the less reported entities
in the literature. They can be present usually between 15
and 72 years. It is important for the dermatologist to be aware
of this entity, since it’s behavior is usually benign, and the clinical
characteristics may suggest malignant melanocytic proliferation.
We report three cases, in which the diagnosis of melanotic
macule of the penis was proposed based on the clinical presentation
and was confirmed by histopathological examination; in
one of them ruling out genital malignant melanoma.
