ABSTRACT
Bowen's disease is a rare condition characterized by a cutaneous dyskeratosis with evolution towards cancerous transformation. It is more common in women over 50 and, as a risk factor, infection with the human papillomavirus may be present. Five patients with Bowen's disease, three female and two males, were diagnosed, all with a history of human papillomavirus infection and one with a history of squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. Bowen's disease is a rare malignant condition, so it is of interest to doctors who treat this condition to know the characteristics of the lesions for early diagnosis and timely treatment, in order to avoid mutilating resections.
