ABSTRACT
Multiple drug allergy syndrome is a clinical condition in which a group of patients are prone to reactions to several chemically unrelated drugs and where an underlying immune mechanism is considered for each reaction. The objective of this work is to expose to the medical community a complex and rare disease, as well as its management as it is currently proposed for diagnosis and treatment. The case of a patient with a history of reactions to several medications is presented, with risk factors such as age, sex, history of atopy and recurrent exposure to drugs and where, probably, more than one of the Gell and Coombs mechanisms are involved. The controlled exposure test was ruled out to be performed due to the risk of replicating and triggering anaphylaxis.
