ABSTRACT
COVID-19 has recently been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization. Infected patients may require surgery at some point in the course of their disease. Carefully implementing infection control measures is necessary to prevent nosocomial transmission to other patients and the health care personnel providing care. This article summarizes important considerations from the anesthesiologist's point of view for proper perioperative management of both suspected cases and those confirmed by COVID-19.
