Human Papillomavirus and Condyloma Anogenital Infections

ABSTRACT
Human papillomavirus (hpv) genital infections are the main
sexually transmitted infections today and continues to increase
its incidence worldwide. It is crucial for the physician to understand
the cell cycle in which the virus acts for the formation
of benign lesions (warts and condylomas) as well as malignancies
(cervical, anal and penile cancer). The aim of this review
is to provide health professionals the tools to understand the
physiopathology, clinical characteristics and different treatment
options for warts and condylomas, along with a correct comprehension
of the psychosocial environment of the patient.
