ABSTRACT
Introduction: The ischemic cardiomyopathy is the most important cause in death in the world and it is manifested in different ways, the most serious are the acute myocardial infarction, the chest angina and the sudden death.Objetives: to characterize the acute myocardial infarction in patient older than 19 years and younger than 65 years.
Methods: It was carried out a retrospective study of series of cases in the Service of Intensive Care of Educational General Hospital "Guillermo Domínguez López" in Puerto Padre´s municipality among the period of June of the 2017 to December of 2018. Descriptive statistics calculations were performed: absolute and relative frequency, mean and standard deviation.
Results: The masculine sex represented 61,76% (63 cases). For group of ages in both sexes were more frequent the cases in the group of 56 at 65 with 65,08% (41 cases) in the masculine one and 48,72% in the feminine one (19 cases). The media of the age was of 59 years for the men and of 55 years for the women; being of 57 years for the total. Of the 28 patient thrombolysed (27,45%), it was more frequent the realization of this to proceed therapeutic between the 6 and 12 hours after the infarction in 14 patients (50%). The most frequent complications were the left ventricle´s dysfunction in 24 cases (23,53%), and the ischemic ones in 6 cases (5,88%).
