ABSTRACT
Objective: evaluate the isolates frecuency of
Staphylococcus meticillin resistent like causal agent of infections, identify
type of sample with hight percent of isolation, determine the antimicrobial susceptibility “in vitro” of methicillin resistant
Staphylococcus spp and promove the training in prevention and control of infections associated to the health assistance.
Method: descriptive study made in the General Calixto García Universitary Hospital during the period 2015 to 2017. 2 049
clinical samples were analysed in admitted patients with
Staphylococcus spp isolates. The bacterial isolates were identified
via conventional methods of the Microbiology Laboratory. The antimicrobial susceptibility
in vitro was determined by the
Bauer-Kirby’s method and
E-test methods for the vancomycin. The resistant mechanism to the meticillin was detected
with cefoxitin (30 µg). The results interpretation was made according to the CLSI 2015’ standard.
Results: the incidence of methicillin resistant
Staphylococcus isolations was 72,6%. The grave patients’ care Units were
the services that had the major isolating; the most representative samples were the endotracheal aspirates and blood
culture. There was a high percent of resistant to the majority of antimicrobial non betalactams proved. Tetracycline and
chloramphenicol had the less resistant percent. There was no resistance to vancomycin.
Conclusions: the resistance to methicillin in
Staphylococcus aureus was higher than negative coagulase staphylococcus
with high percent resistant to the majority of antimicrobial non betalactams proved. Tetracycline, chloramphenicol and
glycopedtides are option therapeutic.
