ABSTRACT
An infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has affected a large part of the world population since December 2019.The clinical manifestations in pregnant patients with COVID-19 are similar to those in the general population. The gold standard in the diagnosis of this disease is the realtime polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Diagnostic chest imaging such as radiographs and CT scans are recommended for a more complete evaluation in pregnant patients suspected of COVID-19. The management of the pregnant woman with COVID-19 is based upon stratification and supportive care, with team-based decision making. The treatment is still experimental and there is no reason to believe vaginal delivery is contraindicated. Costa Rican Ministry of Health has issued a series of regulations about COVID-19 concerning the pregnant women and breast feeding.REFERENCES
