ABSTRACT
Objective: to analyze family health
and glycemic level in women who are
in their second and third trimester of
pregnancy.
Methods: cross-sectional
analytical study. 230 pregnant women
in their second and third trimester,
attached to the Family Medicine Unit
(FMU) No. 75 of the Mexican Institute
of Social Security (IMSS), in the State
of Mexico, participated. Family health
was evaluated during gestation period
using the ISF:GES-17 questionnaire and
the glycemic level using the pre-prandial
capillary glucose.
Results: 45% (n=103)
of the participants showed good glycemic
level in the third quarter and 22%
(n=50) in the second quarter, while the
bad glycemic level was reported in the
third quarter with 19% (n=44) and in
the second quarter with 14% (n=33).
There was an association between healthy
family health and good glycemic level in
33% of pregnant women.
Conclusions:
There was an association between healthy
family health and good glycemic level.
It is important to implement measures
for an appropriate family environment,
empowering the pregnant woman in
healthy lifestyles and promoting timely
glycemic level testing.
