ABSTRACT
Introduction: Metaplastic squamous cell carcinoma of the breast accounts for less than 1% of all invasive breast carcinomas. Case report: 47-year-old woman female with metaplastic carcinoma with epidermoid differentiation. Immunohistochemistry with estrogen receptors 30%, progesterone receptors 5%, Her2 negative, Ki 67 80%. A simple mastectomy is performed with wide skin resection and skin coverage with a dorsal flap. Definitive histopathological diagnosis: metaplastic carcinoma with epidermoid differentiation of 12 × 11 × 8 cm; invasion and skin ulceration, vascular, presence of lymphatic and perineural invasion, three supraclavicular lymph nodes with metastases and 21 axillary nodes with mixed hyperplasia. Conclusion: Metaplastic breast carcinoma is associated with indicators of poor prognosis, requiring an aggressive multidisciplinary care.REFERENCES
