ABSTRACT
Sexuality is a determining dimension for the individual, with biopsychosocial, cultural, political and even economic implications. This centrality links sexuality with multiple aspects and modulates the social roles and behaviors, turning this into an indisputable object of interest for intervention from the Social Work. Objective. To discuss the presence of articles on sexuality in Spanish-American journals specialized in Social Work, and to identify the typology, the context and the subject matters of these journals. Methodology. The systematic bibliograpfic review—specifically what Guirao calls a review of qualitative synthesis (metasynthesis)—is used as methodological strategy. Results. Although there is a strong relationship between Social Work and sexuality-related issues, the presence of publications on this subject is relatively low. There is a noticeable diversity in contents, and the main methodological approach is the revision format and the qualitative perspective.
