ABSTRACT
Background: Pituitary aspergillosis is an extremely rare entity, which is often confused for pituitary neoplasms, which can delay its diagnosis.Clinic case: A 57-year-old man with history of the resection of a pituitary macroadenoma by transcraneal approach 30 years ago, now with presumptive diagnosis of recurrence of pituitary macroadenoma, a transesfenoidal approach was made, with later histopathologic diagnostic of pituitary aspergilloma, treatment with voriconazole orally was installed.
Conclusions: Pituitary aspergillosis used to be established by histopathological study, thus, it should be considered part of the differential diagnosis in a sellar tumor.
