ABSTRACT
Background: Elastofibroma dorsi is a rare, benign, unilateral pseudotumor, usually
asymptomatic. The diagnosis is established through imaging and histopathological
studies.
Clinical case: A 35-year-old mestizo-Mexican female patient from a tropical area
of Mexico (Chiapas) in whom the diagnosis of elastofibroma dorsi was confirmed with
a histopathological study. She received no treatment for being asymptomatic.
Conclusions: The early age of appearance of our patient (35 years) is noted, because
this disease is more frequent in ages over 70 years. It is important to carry out a
histopathological study when this type of disease is suspected.
