ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to compare Spanish–Portuguese–Brazilian scientific production about physiotherapy in women's health care in the periods 2004-2008 and 2013-2017 and identify in the latter period the most relevant features of scientific production. A bibliometric study was conducted of the volume of production, the collaboration indices and guidelines, and the productivity of authors. Increase in production was significant from one period to the other (p< 0.04), with a rate of 606.06%. The topics most frequently dealt with were menopause (34%) and aging (24.03%). Universities in Brazil have greater research potential in the field, which reflects in both the number of studies (61.80%) and their degree and management of collaborative research. More commitment is required from authors (transience index is 83.58%) and from countries to continue working on their research lines about the study topic, so as to have leaders in the field and consolidate the scientific literature.
