Pedagogical strategy for educational work from the History of medicine

ABSTRACT
Objective: to design a pedagogical strategy for educational work in the ELAM from its link with the History of Medicine.Material and method: a research-development project was carried out from 2015 to 2017. The sample consisted of 30 teachers, 106 students and 10 managers. The teaching performance for the educational work was characterized for which the variable to be studied was defined, its dimensions and the parameters to consider the teaching performance in three levels: high, medium and low, according to the results of the empirical investigations made as the observation of the initial and final performance.
Results: for the Teaching Activity dimension the level of performance was high; for the Pre-Paración Humanist dimension it was medium and for the dimension Preparation in History of Medicine was low. A pedagogical strategy was designed in five stages: determination of problems, awareness, organization, execution of teaching activities and evaluation.
Conclusions: lack of motivation for the History of Medicine and lack of knowledge about outstanding figures and milestones. The application of the strategy allowed to see the improvement of teaching performance for educational work from the History of Medicine.
