ABSTRACT
The history of the ABC Medical Center goes back to the creation of the American Hospital at December the 12th 1886, in Gabino Barreda St. 34, San Rafael. Cowdray Hospital was founded by Weetman Dickinson Pearson, Lord Cowdray and wife Anne Cass; it emerged as a small clinic in 1911 at Antonio Caso and Serapio Rendon St. On February the 27th 1941 both hospitals decided to fuse to create the American British Cowdray, a private assistance institution. Back then hand injuries were treated by general surgeons. Since 2015 an emergency assistance role for hand surgery was created to offer prompt and adequate evaluations. Same year the Orthopedic Service line has organized hand surgery meetings and courses at Santa Fe campus.
