ABSTRACT
Onychomycosis are nail infections that can be generated by
dermatophyte, yeasts, and non-dermatophyte molds.
N. dimidiatum
is a non-dermatophyte mold that produce keratinases,
virulence factor that allows it to affect the nail. We present a
case of a 41-year-old male with total dystrophic onychomycosis
in feet, with melanonychia, caused by
N. dimidiatum. The patient
was treated with itraconazole pulse therapy, however there
was no improvement.
