ABSTRACT
Introduction: alcoholism is one of the main health problems worldwide, impacting its negative consequences on the social level of the person. A descriptive - retrospective study was carried out.Objective: to recognize the social repercussion of alcoholism in CMF # 8. Guise. 2018.
Method: the universe and the sample was made up of the 33 patients who presented problems related to alcohol, who were in the area at the time of the investigation. For the realization of this work: variables such as age, sex, schooling, occupation, marital status, consumption motivation, knowledge of its consequences and social, employment and family impact were used using descriptive and statistical observation methods on social repercussion of alcoholism in the CMF # 8 during the period October-March 2017. The information of the data obtained by means of the simple tabulation method is processed, all the information is processed through the Microsft Excel program with a computer with Windows 2003.
Results: the age group of 36 to 45 years predominated, with one (61%), in the male sex it is (100%), the level of basic secondary schooling was the most relevant with one (58%).
Conclusions: the greatest motivation for alcohol consumption was the need to alleviate anxiety, the highest percentage were consumers of risks and in the social, family and work environment alcoholism causes fights, public scandals, robberies, penalties and police arrest with greater frequency.
