Lower lip laceration due to a dog bite

ABSTRACT
A case is presented with the objective to show the surgical management in the functional and esthetics reconstruction of a lower lip in a young female patient who went to the Emergency Unit complaining of a facial bite of an Alsatian dog at her home. The used emergency surgical technique was the one of local flaps. It was indispensable an antibiotic, anti-tetanus and anti-rabies prophylaxis. The cleaning and the primary suturing of the laceration was performed with reconstruction techniques. The post-operative management was necessary to control the obtained results. It can be concludes that with the application of the flap technique, satisfactory results were obtained. It is recommended to transmit to the population the possible damages of canine aggressions.REFERENCES
