Emergencies because of fallings, damage or deterioration of dental prosthetic devices

ABSTRACT
Introduction: breaking of dental prosthesis are frequent in the specialized service.Objective: to characterize the emergencies because of fallings, damage or deterioration of dental prosthetic devices in the dental prostheses service.
Methods: an observacional, descriptive, transversal study was carried out at “Andrés Ortíz Junco¨ Dental Clinic, from January to December, 2018. The population was formed by 2031 patients with breaking in their prostheses. For collecting the data, statistics in 2018 was checked by the daily activities controlling form and a statistical analysis was carried out through X2 docima and the Duncan test of multiple comparison.
Results: The 25.32 % of the patients presented this kind of emergency. The female sex prevailed with a 55.74 %. The 69.06 % were simple repairing, being the 55.8 % due to fracture of the bases, while the 43.83 % of the repairing were complex of adding teeth by immediate. El 46.79 % of the prostheses are total with a 59.68 % of fallen teeth followed by partial prostheses, with fracture of the bases for a 58.41 %. In the fixed partial prostheses, the 60.33 % were presented because of no cemented pins.
Conclusions: emergencies because of breakings are presented with high frequency being the female sex the most affected. Simple repairing because of fracture of the bases and adding of teeth by immediate among the complex repairing prevail. Total prosthesis because of fallen teeth are the most affected followed by the partial ones with fracture of their bases. In the fixed partial prostheses, the no cemented pins prevail.
