ABSTRACT
Natural killer/T cell lymphomas (NKTCL) are rare neoplasms of which there are a
limited bibliographical information and minimum experience in their treatment, they
are rapidly evolving and with poor prognosis. It is known that some risk factors for
developing this neoplasm are exposure to pesticides, solvents, infection by Epstein-Barr
virus (EBV) and Asian and Hispanic American ancestry. Some of the most important
prognostic factors are the clinical stages of Ann-Arbor at the time of diagnosis, which
is related to achieving an opportune diagnosis since most of these patients are late in
diagnosis. Other important factors in the prognosis are the extension to the central
nervous system (CNS), adulthood and certain biochemical markers, such as lactic
dehydrogenase (DHL) and fibrinogen.
