ABSTRACT
Introduction: educational software favors the students ‘academic personality development and transforms current teaching approach, where students perform inside an interactive learning environment.Subject: to create an educational software on Medical Genetics Introduction of Morphophysiology III, for 3rd year nursing students.
Methods: a medical education development research about learning resources in the Medical Sciences Branch Arides Estévez Sánchez of Holguín, Cuba, from October 2011 to June 2012 in 1st and 2nd stages and from October to December 2016 in a 3rd stage.
Results: blackboard was the most used teaching medium. The 100% of teachers considered it necessary to elaborate the software. Students’ criteria category on quality aspects of the learning resource reached 100% excellent, as well as topics significance and students’ formation on ethical- moral values and positive attitudes. Software utility for independent study was evaluated excellent by the 90% of students.
Conclusion: a learning resource with the use of educational informatics on Medical Genetics Introduction was developed. Program structure was based on objectives and favorable students´ criteria.
