ABSTRACT
Acute appendicitis clinical features’ have been significantly modified in the last years, changing the tidy and characteristic picture that made possible and easy to suspect this diagnosis. The role that implies the delay of the opportune diagnosis of acute appendicitis and its suitable treatment, plays a definite role in the development of potential complications that enclose the risk of death. The increasing tendency of diagnostic mistakes in the last years, the inadequate use of medicines and especially the misuse of antibiotics, reflect ignorance of the illness physiopathology. A presuncional diagnosis, justifies not only a period of medical observation without pharmacological treatment but also permits choosing a surgical conduct that always will be safer than promoting modifications that changes the clinical picture and originate severe complications.
