ABSTRACT
Introduction: communication is also the ability to understand the mind. Learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) present difficulties in the theory of mind, understood as the ability to perceive that other people have personal conditions, thoughts, beliefs, desires, intentions, just like us and at the same time different from them. Objective: to propose a communication exercise book for the stimulation of the theory of mind that will provide a guide to medical specialists, defectologists, and pedagogues, students in training and family for the process of assessment and intervention in ASD learners.
Methods: pedagogical study where methods of theoretical, empirical and statistical level were applied to collect, interpret and process the information related to the area under discussion.
Results: the need to have a communication exercise book for the stimulation of the theory of mind from the process of diagnosis, assessment and psycho-pedagogical intervention of ASD learners was verified.
Conclusions: the study is included in the current conception to face the process of diagnosis, assessment and intervention from a clinical-psycho-pedagogical conception and that contributes to the development of the social inclusion of the ASD learners.
