ABSTRACT
Introduction: Angiomyolipomas have increased their frequency in relation to the improvement of diagnostic imaging. Its presentation is usually sporadic. There are several therapeutic behaviors. Objective: To explain the presentation of angiomyolipomas, the diagnosis and current therapeutic behavior. Presentation of the case: Patients presented with retroperitoneal bleeding and pain respectively; and received surgical treatment, one of them with previous selective arterial embolization. Angiomyolipomas are benign tumors. They can occur in the majority of patients in isolation or accompanying tuberous sclerosis. Diagnostic imaging is usually sufficient when they have a high fat content. They should be treated when they are bigger than 4 cm because of the risk of bleeding. Selective arterial embolization and partial nephrectomy are the first therapeutic options. Conclusions: Two cases of renal angiomyolipomas with bleeding were presented, which obliged physicians to act immediately.
