ABSTRACT
Introduction: the inoperable biliopancreatic malignant lesions bring undesirable negative effects that affect the quality of life of the oncological patient. Stent placement allows for ductual decompression with satisfactory results in the application of the therapy used through endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for palliative purposes. Objective: to analyze the different aspects related to the natural evolution of malignant lesions of biliary tract and pancreas in oncological patients treated with endoprosthesis from an inclusive approach. Development: it is necessary that the health personnel do not see patients with biliopancreatic diseases in isolation, despite the anatomical, clinical, physiological and therapeutic management differences, they are integrated by their correlation with blood chemistry, effect of the method palliative used and allows the assessment, interpretation and comparison regarding the evolution of the patient before and after the placement of the stent. Conclusions: in the follow-up of the evolution of the malignant neoplasms, the integration of the interpretation of the images, the presence of signs and symptoms, relation of hemochemical parameters and the therapeutic procedure used, after the placement of endoprosthesis as a treatment is necessary and timely palliative, with ERCP as the modality of choice.REFERENCES
