Current therapeutic use of intravenous immunoglobulin

ABSTRACT

The administration of intravenous preparations of human immunoglobulin has been related to transplants and to different diseases, such as primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, where antibodies alterations, viral and bacterial serious infections, as well as autoimmune diseases (including those of rheumatologic, dermatologic, neurological and hematological origin) take place. In this revision, the evidence and recommendation in a variety of diseases, as well as its infusion rate and side effects are evaluated.
