ABSTRACT
Myasis can be caused by a great variety of flies. It’s endemic in tropical countries, and in Mexico in the states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas and Tabasco. It’s caused due to larvae infestation of the botfly Dermatobia hominis. Myasis can be found in both genders and at any age. We report the case of a 25-year-old male which acquires such infestation during a trip to the Lacandona rainforest in Chiapas, Mexico.
