ABSTRACT
The shoulder is the joint that most frequently dislocates in the human body.
The most common type of dislocation is the anterior, followed by the
posterior, while the inferior dislocation is the least frequent. One of the most
frequent mechanisms of the anterior dislocation is an indirect trauma to the
upper limb with the shoulder in abduction, extension and external rotation.
Falls, seizures, and car accidents are the most frequent. Initial management
is functional in most cases.
