ABSTRACT
At present, brown tumor is a rare complication of primary, secondary or tertiary hyperparathyroidism. It is described the case
of a pediatric patient with a late diagnosis of chronic renal failure, on hemodialysis for a year, who has developed an unusual
oral lesion on the hard palate. It is extremely rare to find a brown tumor as a first clinical manifestation of secondary or tertiary
hyperparathyroidism, since these disorders are endocrinologically diagnosed in the initial asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic
stages. This is where the role of the teams of health care and pathological anatomy is highlighted, in order to provide a final and
accurate diagnosis, that allows establishing an action protocol which is the least aggressive and most curative for the patient.
