ABSTRACT
In this article, the arthroplasty with fixation and stabilization of articular disc as surgical treatment for advanced TMJ internal derangements is described, following diagnostic and treatment protocols established for TMJ and Facial Pain Clinic of Escuela de Odontología, Universidad De La Salle Bajío. Three cases are discussed to illustrate this surgical technique. Today, the most commonly method used to fix and stabilize the TMJ articular disc for us is the arthroplasty with minianchor Mitek® complemented with lasertherapy and physiotherapy with Therabite® rehabilitation system to reduce the physiotherapy postoperative times and making the postoperative period less painful.
