ABSTRACT
The second part of this article deals with the effects of exposure to pollution on respiratory health and the mechanisms involved in the epigenetic, immunological or indirect levels through the modification of the microbiota. As well as the role of air pollution during key stages such as pregnancy and the first year of life favoring the risk of respiratory disease manifested by the presence of wheezing, eczema and acute otitis, according to the evidence provided by systematic reviews of literature. It should be noted that the main protective factor during the first six months of life is to receive breastfeeding, preferably only according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Accessing education programs through Web pages or courses on the subject for medical and paramedical personnel is key in the management of these problems, as well as carrying out clinical and basic research studies that provide information on the mechanisms and effects of contamination environmental in respiratory health in our environment.
