ABSTRACT
Surrogate motherhood is a technique of assisted reproduction that gives the opportunity to women with absence of functional uterus, homosexual couples and single men to reproduce. The success rate has been demonstrated in these cases but also the increase of obstetric complications in the gestational carriers. Given the increase in access to information, patients will demand this type of treatment so we have to know the definitions, as well as the rights of both the parents and the surrogate mother.
