ABSTRACT
Subcutaneous fat necrosis is a rare, self-limiting panniculitis that usually affects full-term infants in the first weeks of life. There are several risk factors for its development, such as perinatal asphyxia, hypothermia and meconium aspiration. Its complications are unusual, hypercalcemia being the most severe one among all.
