ABSTRACT
Ciguatera food poisoning is caused by ingestion of fish infected with the toxin of
Gambierdiscus toxicus. Clinical manifestations are diverse as it has gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and neurological symptoms. There has been an increase in cases due to a higher demand and consumption of contaminated seafood. We make reference to a case in which a patient present with acute neuropathy associated with gastrointestinal symptoms after consuming fish.
