ABSTRACT
Topical steroids are still an elective treatment for some cutaneous disorders as eccema in children. Topical steroids belongs from the hidrocortison molecule that has been modified by halogenization or sterification in order to encrease their solubility and their antiinflammatory and immunosupresive potencial as well as to decrease their mineralocorticoid and antiproliferative effects.
To choose of the best topical steroid we should consider their therapeutic potencial, the formulation, the extension of the disorder, the type of the lesion, the localization (folders) and the age of the patient, in order to avoid secondary effects and improve their benefits.
Topical steroids are formulate usually associated to antibiotics, urea, salicilic acid, D vitamin derivates depending of the disorder to be treated.
