The optimization of postoperative pain management and its approach in the different scenarios faced by anesthesiologists in their daily practice represent a great challenge. At present, we have guidelines and recommendations issued by different groups in which, based on scientific evidence, this problem is addressed.
In Mexico, a group of enthusiastic anesthesiologists from different institutions, led by Dr. Ana Lilia Garduño López in strategic association with Dr. Ruth Zaslansky and Dr. Winfried Meissner from the University of Jena in Germany, took on the task of organizing the Mexican Network for the Optimization of Perioperative Pain Management. This great collective effort resulted in a strategy and a series of recommendations that we put to your consideration in this issue of the Revista Mexicana de Anestesiología.
