ABSTRACT
Colorectal Cancer is a common disease in our environment, its incidence and mortality varies significantly around the
world. In our country and Latin America, efforts have been made to improve the diagnostic rates of the RCC and
modern screening programs are currently being carried out. To aim for a good CCR screening program, the target
population must be established and evaluated. Once the patient's risk is established, various diagnostic options will be
chosen, highlighting colonoscopy as “the gold standard” for elevated risk and high-risk patients; while
immunochemical fecal tests are recommended for patients with average risk. This review describes the different tools
available to create CCR screening programs and recommendations for their use.
