ABSTRACT
In recent years we have witnessed a rapid development in the field of Stomatology, computerized diagnostic and treatment systems, new implant techniques, new generations of materials restorations, composites, metal-free ceramic, compound resins, with a more natural and aesthetic effect for patients, that although expensive, can make disappear physical effects of metal restorations like, thermal conduction, allergic reactions etc. However, partial restorations (inlays) or total restorations (onlays) of dental crowns with great loss of dental tissue are an alternative, still in force, since we can obtain occlusal surfaces with functional design, resistance and long term accurate marginal fit. A condition for this is that the restoration has been integrated and properly oral hygiene is practiced. Our paper aims to communicate technical inlays/ onlays treatment, procedures and results achieved in four patients treated at our service due to crown fracture of the dental arch in the early 2000. Patients were performed a clinical examination, X-rays, model studies and diagnostic wax-up, evaluating collected information, diagnosis and treatment using inlays/ onlays was determined. Nickel-chromium and gold alloys were used for crowns as a restorative material. Restoration was achieved showing the validity of this treatment under current conditions.REFERENCES
