ABSTRACT
Therapeutic accompaniment (TA) arises as a firm commitment to work with subjects of psychotic structure, aiming to reduce medication, avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and reestablish the social bond. This modality of clinical work can be extended to different contexts, thereby in the present research the therapeutic accompaniment is proposed in the context of Down syndrome. These subjects are usually reduced to objects, which are considered unable to "speak out", to do certain things and even, it is assumed that they are unable to desire. They tend to be isolated by the labeling that precedes and (re)presents them in the social as “Down", therefore, we can consider that TA will enable the reestablishment of the social bond and, for hence, their assumption as desiring subjects. In this way, through the present investigation we intend to achieve two things: firstly, to highlight the implications of labeling in subjective identifications of subject represented as "Down"; and secondly, to draw an outline about some of the possible scope that this modality of clinical work could have in such subjects.REFERENCES
