Health damages due to Coca-Cola addictive consumption

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Coca-cola is one of the most consumed soft drinks worldwide. What emerged in the form of syrup as a home remedy for digestive problems raises its supply and demand every day. Its consumption, among other effects, is capable of producing a sensation of pleasure in people, which leads it to be consumed for abuse purposes. However, its compounds caused large and serious health problems that can lead a person to death, and even more if he/she becomes an addict.Objectives: Enumerate the causes that lead to addiction in coca- cola consumption, characterize the damages to health of its components, and mention alternatives of substitution in the treatment of the addict.
Methods: Descriptive longitudinal study.
Results: The sweet refreshing flavor and presence of compounds such as caffeine, atropine and egnonine in a lesser percentage explain the addictive component of cocacola. Among the toxic components, the phosphoric acid, which has a corrosive effect, stands out. The appearance of Díabetes Mellitus, anemia, loss of tooth enamel, aging and obesity are part of the harmful effects on health. The substitution for other more innocuous drinks is part of the treatment.
Conclusions: Caffeine is its main addictive component, consumption for pleasure causes serious health problems. Substitute therapies with other substances are listed as part of the treatment.
