ABSTRACT
Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable disease, characterized by abnormal proliferation
of plasma cells. In the Mexican guidelines of multiple myeloma, it is estimated that it
represents 4-8% of the haematological ailments and 90% occurs in people older than
50 years. Through this review, we will address key points that involve the approach
of the patient with multiple myeloma that is a candidate for transplantation, from the
clinical perspective to the ethical and financial.
