ABSTRACT
Treatment of early stages of mycosis fungoides with UVB narrow band. Mycosis fungoides early stage has been treated with various agents: topical steroids, nitrogen mustard, PUVA, radiotherapy, among others. However, these treatments they are associated with side effects. Narrow band UVB (UVB-ba) has a similar therapeutic effect, but with a greater security profile. The aim was to determine the response to UVB-ba patients with MF stage IA, IB, in the Service of Dermatology of the Private Hospital (from May 2009 to December of 2014). Correlating the total energy dose and the number of sessions with the response reached. Describe the reactions adverse events and the demographic characteristics of the population. He conducted a prospective, descriptive, analytical, observational study. The cumulative dose and the number of sessions were calculated end of treatment. A total of 20 patients began with UVB-ba from May 2009 to December 2014: 8 women and 12 men. Average age: 55 years, phototype: more frequent two (71%). Average sick time: three years (one month and 11 years). 55% were in stage IA, 45% IB. Complete response reached in 60% (12 patients), 30% partial (six patients), 10% without response (two patients). The average time of remission: 17.44 months. UVB-ba is a safe and effective treatment for patients with MF in early stage with a remission period of more than one year.
