ABSTRACT
Ostraceous psoriasis is an unusual hyperkeratotic form of psoriasis. In this variant, exudate forms crusts that intermingle with the thick scale, forming plaques that resemble an ostrich shell. Some authors suggest that the severity of the hyperkeratotic lesions reflects the intensity of the inflammation and recommend discarding psoriatic arthritis. A resistance to the conventional treatment has been observed. In this article, we report the case of a 23-year-old woman with a diagnosis of ostraceous psoriasis who received topical treatment, with a remission and exacerbation.
