ABSTRACT
Psoriasis is considered an erythematosquamous dermatosis with great clinical polymorphism; it results from the shortening of the epidermal cell cycle associated with genetic and environmental factors. It occurs in 2% of the world population; the most common form (in 80-90% of the cases) is plaque or vulgar psoriasis. Inverted psoriasis has been reported in up to 24%, it affects folds (armpits, genitals, perineum, and the intergluteal, retroauricular, inframammary, and abdominal areas). It is characterized by erythematous plaques with few scales, given the humid environment of these regions. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a differential diagnosis with candidiasis, ringworm and intertrigo, to mention a few. Because of the clinical impact and quality of life, especially in those with genital lesions, it is necessary to start a treatment as soon as possible. The first line includes topical steroids, derivatives of vitamin D3 and calcineurin inhibitors. In this article we report a case of inverted psoriasis with characteristic clinical manifestations.
