ABSTRACT
Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) of acute type may occur after vaccination. Cases of ITP associated with
influenza vaccine are rare. We describe the case of a 42-year-old female patient who presents nasal, vaginal and mucous
bleeding two days after she was vaccinated against influenza. Severe plaquetopenia was found by laboratory.
She was hospitalized and treated with danazol, prednisone and intravenous human gammaglobulin. The patient
recovered satisfactorily.
