ABSTRACT
Cutis verticis gyrata (CVG) is a rare condition characterized by
excessive proliferation of subcutaneous tissue and hypertrophy
of the scalp that produces folds and grooves resembling brain
gyri. The primary variant of CVG is characterized by findings of
normal skin in the histopathological study and its essential form
is rare. We present two cases of male patients with essential
primary
cutis verticis gyrata of 32 and 27 years old respectively;
the main concern of both patients was the appearance of the
scalp and foul odor. According to the literature review, these
are the first two cases reported in Mexican population.
